A single path light at the corner of a bed marks where the planting stops and the stepping stones begin.

From the project

Kichler sells its path lights as part of a low-voltage landscape range1. In this image, which appears to be a rendering, the light pools on the mulch and the edge of the first stone, and the shrub behind is caught only at its base. That is the whole job of a path light: show the ground, not the lamp.
